This residential project featured the extensive use of premium finished oak and sandblasted granite, providing the home with a richness of textures. The patron (whose son is an artist) consulted with Surface Workshop and the architect in the selection of materials and color palettes, creating unique and unified spaces throughout the light-filled and airy house. Drawing inspiration from the total designs of artist, designer and architect Gio Ponti, the textures of the materials are often accompanied by geometric tiling and gestural light fixtures. Surface Workshop conducted extensive work on the kitchen and bar, as well as several vanities throughout the house. Details include the implementation of the sandblasted granite along interior window ledges.
